Kevin Stone was born in Nov. 1965. Kevin was raised in Columbus, Ohio by his parents Larry and Judy Stone, he has a younger sister Pam, and two nephews Kyle and Korey. Over the years Kevin has been an avid collector of Lionel Trains. His dad Larry got Kevin interested in the Lionel Trains when he was very young, he has a very impressive collection of trains. Kevin now resides in Urbana, Ohio with his wife Amy, and 3 step-children Kali, Loren, and Addy.
Kevin started Mud Bogging/Racing in 1984 with an older Chevy step side truck “The Heat Is On”. With all that it still wasn’t as fast as Kevin wanted to go, so he purchased a rail and eventually bought his first blower motor. For about a year back in 1994 Kevin raced a front engine rail in the open class. The car called “Petty Cash” was owned by John Handley from Southwest 4x4. Kevin has raced both front engine rails and rear engine rails. He has had a few crashes in both styles of cars with minor injuries, and severe damage to the cars.
Over the years, Kevin has raced at the Jamborees and B&M Motorsport Races. Kevin enjoys racing in the County Fair races the most because of the family environment. The fair races allow the children to come over and look at the cars, get autographs, and pictures of the drivers and cars.Other than races in Ohio, Kevin has also raced in W. Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Vermont, North and South Carolina, and Florida. Kevin is a proud member of the NMRO.
Since Kevin started racing he has had a lot of help over the years from Mike Lane. Without Mike, Kevin would not have had the success, nor would he have enjoyed racing like he has. Mike has been a true friend, who has showed many his compassion and appreciation for the sport.
